4 Common Mistakes

  1. DO-IT-YOURSELF PEST CONTROL
Do-it-yourself sprays and other products purchased off the shelf at Home Depot, Lowes, etc. will only hide and may even compound your bug or insect problem. Using do-it-yourself products may make household pests disappear from sight, but not from your home or business. Safe, effective pest control is best left up to professionals. Pest control companies have the proper training and have access to more effective and stronger pest control products than you do. “Do-it-yourself” may save you a little money in the short-term, but it will allow your problem to multiply and may ultimately cost you more.

  2. CHOOSING A COMPANY BASED ON PRICE ALONE
The price you were quoted might not be for a “complete” service but instead, a “stripped down model”. Low price can also mean the company is delivering an inexpensive, inferior quality service. Seek value, not price. A cheap shoddy or incomplete job will not provide the benefits you and your family need and deserve.

  3. USING UNQUALIFIED PEST CONTROL SERVICE PROVIDERS
Make sure that the pest control professional you use is Certified by the Department of Agriculture and can show you documents to prove it - this Certification is EARNED, and cannot be bought. Further, consider issues such as experience, training, licensing. Licensed pest control professionals must undergo special training and continuing education.

  4. CHOOSING A COMPANY THAT DOES NOT USE STATE-OF-THE-ART TREATMENT METHODS
Avoid those company’s that rely on spray treatments alone. Look for a pest control company that uses state-of-the-art treatment methods and an integrated pest management approach to pest control. Also, membership in National or State associations is a good sign a pest control company uses the latest technology and adheres to a strict code of ethics.
